In quick service restaurants or QSRs, customers generally order and pay before eating. Most QSRs are fast food franchises such as McDonald’s, KFC and Taco Bell that rely on efficient operations and high volume sales. There are also other sit-down restaurant franchises such as Pizza Hut, Subway and Panera Bread.
About 200,000 fast food and quick-service restaurants operate in the U.S., generating annual revenue of approximately $150 billion.
