As an historical aside, the memory of Henry Hornblower's partner, John Wingate Weeks, who went on to be a US Senator and then US Secretary of War, lives on today with the historic donation of the John W. Weeks Memorial Bridge to Harvard University. The Weeks Bridge is perhaps the most photographed spot on the Harvard campus. Henry Hornblower donated this beautiful bridge to Harvard in 1929. The bridge was donated to create a career pathway for students of Harvard College to the relatively new Harvard Business School, founded in 1908, much younger than Harvard College which is the oldest college in America, founded in 1636.
