Meet Our Team

Matt Coyne is the Managing Partner of VR Mergers & Acquisitions in Malverne, Pennsylvania. Matt co-founded this regional VR Mergers & Acquisitions office after years of senior level positions with Fortune 500 companies such as GE and Fisher Scientific.  Matt holds a degree in Marketing and Management from the University of Vermont. Matt's corporate experiences include Senior Financial Analyst (corporate acquisitions) VP of Finance, and Matt also teaches multiple seminars including various CPE classes and a workshop for entrepreneurs at Wharton's Small Business Center.

Frank Michel CEPA, Partner, co-founded the office with Matt Coyne. Frank holds a degree in Civil Engineering from Villanova University. Previously, Frank has owned value added reseller software company and a Real Estate Development Firm. Frank is a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) from the Exit Planning Institute, and the AM&AA.

Chad Byers, Senior Associate has completed dozens of transactions in many different industries including mechanical contracting, service and distribution. Chad is also a Co-Founder and the Chairman of the "Chester County Young Professionals," an under 40 organization dedicated to promoting the region's economic vitality through the attraction and retention of young professionals and business leaders.

James Coyne, Sr., Senior Associate has not only joined VR but is also joining his son's (Matt Coyne) firm as well. Jim joins the firm after 45 years as a financial advisor. Jim is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania-Wharton School and is also a retired Lt. Commander of the United States Navy.

Chad McGovern, Associate, joined the firm after finishing his undergraduate studies with a degree in finance from the Pennsylvania State University. While there, Chad was an active member of the Penn State Investment Association, a student-managed investment fund and has a strong background in financial trading software. Chad also comes with experience in Corporate Finance and Internal Audit after completing internships with the Vanguard Group.
