Profile
Stephen M. Abdalla is the company's Principal Broker and the founder of VR Hawaii.
Steve sold more businesses than any other franchise owner in VR's worldwide network of 115 offices during 2007. In addition, he was named "Most Valuable Intermediary" (MVI) in the worldwide VR network for 2006 from more than 500 owners and agents. VR selects one MVI each year from its worldwide network to recognize outstanding contributions to the company in sales, marketing and organizational development.
Steve is the only business broker in the state of Hawaii honored with the International Business Brokers Association's (IBBA's) prestigious designation of Mergers and Acquisitions Master Intermediary ("M&AMI") and the only broker on Oahu with its Certified Business Intermediary ("CBI") designation. The M&AMI certification is awarded only to intermediaries who have demonstrated competence on middle market transactions ($1-100 million) and completed extensive advanced educational requirements. The CBI is granted based on demonstrated knowledge in small market transactions (< $1 million) and adherence to IBBA ethical standards. Steve is one of only a few dozen business brokers nationwide selected by the IBBA to teach workshops at its biannual educational conventions.
He has formed key partnerships with the mainland's leading health care practice brokerage and Hawaii's leading residential realtor, Coldwell Banker, among others. VR dominates business brokerage in the state of Hawaii, and is bringing truly professional service and unmatched experience to the Aloha state.
Prior to founding VR Hawaii, Steve served as Vice President of Marketing of Launch Pad, one of California's premier sales and marketing consulting firms. At Launch Pad, he helped launch more than thirty start up companies, most of them venture capital financed, with invested capital ranging from $250,000 to $50 million. For these clients, he was instrumental in systematizing all aspects of the launch process, including marketing strategy & positioning, segmentation, Internet design and strategy, collateral, public relations, direct marketing programs, sales channels, and pricing strategies. The result: dozens of successful company launches, with one client acquired by Verisign for $750 million and another by Critical Path for $100 million. Prior to Launch Pad, Steve worked for CSC Index and Bain & Company, two leading management consulting firms advising Fortune 1000 companies. For these clients, he specialized in operations redesign, marketing and mergers & acquisitions. In more than 12 separate projects, documented client value added exceeded $1 MM.
Steve has an MBA from Stanford University and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. He is a member of the Honolulu Executives Association, International Association of Business Brokers and the Hawaii Chamber of Commerce. He has written numerous articles on business acquisitions and strategy that have been published in the Pacific Business News. He enjoys historical novels, scuba diving, traveling, golfing (badly) and dining out at Honolulu's many fabulous restaurants.

Profile
Rosalyn Caltrider is a Director with the Maui office of VR Mergers & Acquisitions. She brings a diverse background to VR, with experience in Law, Business Development and Real Estate Development.
Prior to joining VR, Rosalyn began her career as an attorney in a general practice law firm, Johnston, Turner & Henritze. After leaving the firm, she spent fourteen years with Norfolk Southern Corporation, a multi-billion dollar transportation company. Starting with the company as an attorney handling all aspects of real estate transactions, she quickly discovered that her passion was negotiating the deals rather than documenting them. Switching to the business side of real estate as the Manager of Business Development, she was then promoted to the position of Director of Real Estate Development.
With this position, Rosalyn became responsible for the development of non-operational company properties, over an area covering most of the eastern half of the United States. The position included creating non-traditional income streams from underutilized properties, as well as P&L responsibility for 16 joint ventures valued at $400 million and comprised of office buildings, shopping centers, warehouses and vacant land.
Her most challenging and rewarding deal was coordinating the successful effort to secure the U. S. Patent and Trademark Office's award for 2,000,000 square feet of office space. Several years after initiating the endeavor, an old Norfolk Southern rail yard in Alexandria, Virginia became the PTO's new home. Her background places her in the optimal position of understanding the complexities of developing, selling and buying a business.
Rosalyn received her Juris Doctorate degree from Emory University Law School, attended the Advanced Management Program at Duke University, and has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgia State University. She is a member of the Georgia Bar and the American Bar Association. As an active volunteer within her community, she is especially proud to be a member of the Board of Directors of The Friends of The Children's Justice Center.
