Born, Raised?

In starting, building and selling 40+ businesses in Japan, I learned the importance of getting to know each and every person I was doing business with on a level much deeper than we typically do in U.S. business dealings.

In Japan they often begin a first time meeting with “umare wa?” or “goshushin wa?” which literally translates into “where were you born?”.  When I moved back to the U.S.  I continued using this approach but of course not many Americans know Japanese so I used “born, raised?”.

And lo, these two words, combined in just this way (not born AND raised) but “born, raised?” magically unleashes a torrent of information from the person who is asked “born, raised?”.

This is good.  It allows us to get to know someone much, much better and in the process understand how to better help this person.

When you contact us, KNOW that we will ask “born, raised” because the more we can learn about your background, your goals the better we can help you achieve your goals whether that is to buy an LQ business or sell an LQ business on the “Orchid Isle” as the Island of Hawaii is often known.
