Meet Our Team

Gary Glaser, President

Gary spent the early part of his career working at a number of Wall Street firms as an investment analyst and banker (Sanford C. Bernstein & Co, First Boston Corp, and GKM).  Since the mid-90’s, he has primarily acted as a private investor and deal maker – analyzing the investment merits of many companies, large and small, public and private – and has also gained valuable operations experience along the way.  For instance, Gary stepped in as acting CEO of a 300-person environmental consulting firm, with offices throughout New England, and guided that company for two years through a difficult transition period. Gary resides in Ridgefield, Connecticut with his wife Antonella and daughter Shea.


Frank Baylor
 
Frank has been honing his sales and marketing skills and entrepreneurial expertise for the past 20 years.  Much of his career to-date has been spent in the Telecommunications field.  From 1990-2003 Frank managed teams that sold QWEST Voice and Data products throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.  In 2004 Frank joined Maryland-based Telkonet, where he stayed until moving north and joining VR Mergers & Acquisitions in 2009.  At Telkonet he marketed internet and energy management systems for the hotel industry, including clients such as Wyndham, Vacation Resorts International, Choice, as well as Honeywell Utility Systems and General Electric.  Frank currently resides in Stratford, Connecticut.


Ahmad Behjati

Ahmad began his career in the food business, ultimately becoming President of B&B Foods, owners of five very high-end restaurants in the San Francisco area.  During this period Ahmad also gained significant experience in commercial real estate development and investing.  Ahmad relocated to New Canaan, Connecticut in 2003 and since that time  focused on advising a number of business and real estate investment partnerships until joining VR Mergers & Acquisitions.  Ahmad is a former board member of the Berkeley Symphony Orchestra and the Berkeley Repertory Theater and has great passion for the arts.


Tony C. Clawson

Tony is an experienced manager and business attorney.  After leaving the corporate world for more entrepreneurial pursuits, Tony has spent time as President and General Counsel of a company with over 200 employees, he has practiced law in Massachusetts and he has also brokered numerous businesses and properties.  Earlier in his career, Tony held various managerial positions with the Digital Equipment and Polaroid Corporations.  He earned a J.D. Cum Laude from Suffolk University Law School, an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago and a B.S. with High Distinction Honors in Management Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.  Tony resides in Westport, Connecticut with his wife Arlene and their son Adam.
 
 
Robert Long

Robby has spent his career either running, investing in, or advising small and mid-sized companies. After receiving his MBA from William and Mary College in 1983, Robby joined Granite Securities Corporation, a venture capital firm focused on investing in early stage companies. He stayed with Granite until 1998, when he founded Longview Partners, Inc., an investment banking and financial communications consulting firm.  In 2001, Robby founded New York Nonprofit Press, the leading publication servicing the NYC metro-area human services community.  He joined VR Mergers & Acquisitions in 2009.  Robby lives in Rhinebeck, New York.
