I. Marketing Information:
A. The company has been in the same location for over 10 years. The owner relies on the prime location on a major commercial street in the upscale community of Tampa and utilizes word-of-mouth marketing from his many satisfied clients.
1. A new owner could increase the client base through additional marketing strategies. Utilizing direct mail to the surrounding homes and businesses in the area would bring in new clients according to the owner.
a) The owner does not have the time to pursue other marketing strategies because he is attending school in pursuit of his Ph.D. in Physical Therapy.
II. Strengths and Weaknesses:
A. Strengths:
1. The gym is located in a prime Tampa Bay location surrounded by an upscale community of residential neighborhoods and businesses.
2. The gym has a full-line of quality equipment and professional and knowledgeable staff.
3. The gym has an outstanding reputation for services provided.
B. Weaknesses:
1. Not enough trainers and varied services such as yoga, group training, and aerobic classes. There is greater capacity for staff and services which would generate revenue and earnings growth.
2. Lack of an aggressive marketing plan is another weakness of the business. A new buyer could develop a marketing plan that would pro-actively reach the surrounding area through direct mail (i.e. fliers) which would increase client base adding to the strong earnings base.
