Area & Facilities: Currently, the business is run out of the owner’s home office, and has been for 8 years. The owner has identified an adequate space close by him that could house the operation and the lease payment would be $250 per month, but the business does not require it.
Hours & Staffing: Typical hours are Mon-Fri 8 am - 5 pm, but depending on the job load, crews will work weekends and evenings. The business currently has 2 full-time employees – a secretary/bookkeeper and a manager. There are 2 other contract salespeople in addition to the manager, who also sells. There are several different sub-contracting crews the owner has access to for various jobs, but he works every day with one primary crew that runs three trucks and 10 guys. Depending on the size of the day’s jobs, all 10 workers can be on a single job or as many as 3 at once.
Company History: The current owner/founder left his career in 2001 to start this operation. He had no prior arboreal training or experience but saw this type of business as a tremendous opportunity.
