A business with a plan to succeed is a business that will be geared for longevity and growth. In order for that to come to fruition, a business must first establish a marketing plan and execute accordingly by implementing the targeted strategies.  Here are 4 ideas to implement when preparing your business for success.

1. Attend Networking Events. When was the last time you attended a conference, trade show or Chamber event? These events are great for marketing your services while getting your name out there to prospects. Actively participating in these events offers the opportunity to create awareness, build relationships and generate leads. It also can lead to a chance to become part of the community, especially if a member of the Chamber.

2. Establish an Online Presence.  In the digital era, establishing an online presence is critical to supplement the survival rate for your business. This includes online marketing strategies such as: social media, e-mail marketing, blogging and of course pay per click advertising on select platforms and sites. A lot can be achieved in creating awareness with many available tools online to maximize exposure of the services your company provides while reducing costs to avoid overspending due to your budget.

3. Get creative with Campaigns. When developing advertisements,  call-to-action pieces, contests and giveaways and/or other promotions, give the audience (or fans) what they want, not what you think they need. Sometimes the best campaigns require "out-of-the-box" thinking when brainstorming to develop a product that will not only appeal to your target audience but promote worth of mouth marketing, which is invaluable. The goal is to catch the consumer's attention and get them to talk about your brand (or product) through buzz worthy actions, such as publicity (PR), e-mail marketing campaigns, social media and special events.

4. Tell your story (content creation). How well you tell the story of your brand determines the ability to captivate your audience to influence conversion rates to reach a specific goal. Consumers want to be able to find, read, understand and digest what it is your brand is offering as a service or product. A great way to do this is through blogs, vlogs (video), podcasting (audio), media interviews, social media and a well-designed website.
